Why Do I Feel liek I will be left behind for the second coming?

My mom couldn’t bring me up well during her illness while I was a child so I had to find christ myself and I did the sinners speech and I believe. But there is this aching feeling that iwont be taken to heaven and will be left behind for rapture and im scared out of my wits. My faith needs preparation. I had a dream last night that I was in the middle of being saved when the rapture happened and I was left behind. I woke up in a cold sweat 2 minutes after realization and devastation of wht happened. I need help an maybe talk to my pastor about this.

Even if the rapture wasn’t real, God still shows in times of perecution that he is above all pain and agony.

I read thsi book about a POW in the vietnam war. He was tortured and abused in NVA prision. The guards mocked him and his christian faith, telling him he was an idiot to believe in such a stupid idea. But the american countined to pray everynight, despit his pain and mental agony. Then when while he was being tortured, God spoke to him. The guards heard nothing but he physicaly heard a clear, gentle, reassuring voice, speaking to him. I forgot exactly what happened but the guy says he still felt pain of his body, but his spirit and soul felt like they were rising above it all. He felt a overwhelming sense of calm, of peace and even bliss. He also says that afterward, one of the gaurds whispered to him, asking how he was able to bear all that torment and abuse. The american calmly told him it was God and his trust in him that gave strength. The guard suddenly became emotional and admitted he was always a kind of militant athiest. They both prayed and the guard was saved. And they both survived the war. This was back in 1967 or66, im not certian.

So don’t worry about the rapture. If it was God’s will to saty back and give some one last chance to be with him thamn so be it. Be comforted, my friend and remeber that we all have a purpose here on earth. The best thing to do in desprate times is to trust god fully and do our best to share his love, even with our enemies.

Answer #3

It’s natural to be afraid of things that in your heart of hearts, you suspect are not real.

Answer #4

the rapture is a social control mechanism that religions take advantage of. they use fear to control their followers.

Answer #5

Dont let the religious nuts scare you!!

Believe in God, trust Him. Dont even WORRY about the rapture or second coming. Do you know how long people have been talking about that?? SINCE JESUS LEFT THIS EARTH!

You are going to drive yourself nuts! Just be a good person, believe in God, you did the whole sinner’s prayer thing so just relax.

I remember feeling this way when I was younger because I grew up going to churches where they got you to the “alter” by scaring you to death! I have no part in religion now. And life is so much easier.

Answer #6

Do not fear my brother. The rapture is a real even and it will happen. Do you call God your father and pray to Him? I assume you do. In that case you have the Holy Spirit in you. You are in the Spirit and the Spirit is in you. You both are bonded. The rapture is the event where the Holy Spirit is taken away from this world. When the Holy Spirit is taken away He is taken away along with whatever is bonded to Him. Which means you will go with Him.

If you want to have a detailed discussion on this subject I am happy to help you. Please funmail me. I will help you remove that unnecessary fear of yours.

Hi hun, I have spent a lot of time worrying about that aswell and its not nice. I dont give myself too much of a hard time about it anymore though, I just try my best to repent of my sins and be a good person, the best me I can be, even though it takes a lot of effort and its hard!! as were all born sinners. but even if you dont go to gods paradise you wl go to another spiritual realm where you deserve to go for your works on earth and that place will be just as nice you just wont be in gods presence, you may be with his angels instead. but I doubt it im sure you wl go to heaven hun. try and think positiviely, sorry to hear your mum was ill when you were growing up, that must have been hard on you.if you want to discuss further then funmail me.xxx

I agree with artist for the most part. Most Christian religions(and I mean, 99% of them) in one way or the other use the idea of “rapture” (one only supported by the Bible when you cherry pick) to keep their congregations in line. Even the ones who aren’t constantly talking about how bad a person you are, use “rapture” in a very subtle fashion, so that it creates a subconscious fear, a barrier, that works to keep you in line and coming to church.

Sorry, sweetheart. When everything starts going to hell, we’re stuck here with the rest of everyone. It’s our job to endure and lead through the hardship. We don’t get to be sucked into some sort of paradise while everyone else is condemned to the limited concept of the Catholic and Protestant Christian interpretation of Hell.

your question was removed before because all prayer requests regardless of religion will be deleted and yes, you just answred your own queston, go talk to your pastor I dont personally beleive in any god, but as far as I know if you beleive in the chrisitian god, then you will go to your “‘heaven’’ the chrisitian god lets phedophiles, murders, rapists ect who repent and find god into heaven, you havent done any of those bad things you beleive in your god, thats enough to get you into your heaven

Answer #10

well it is supposed to be that any true believer shall go to heaven and your fear just proves that you will ^.^ because you are afraid of the end days just shows how much you believe so you will be saved =)
