How does low co2 increase smooth muscle tone?
these are kind of not really cause and effect studys. Its more like people who have low Co2 meaning they get lots of oxygen, do to great lungs and great bronchial passages ect realy can do more! ok lets talk CO2
Co2 gets into your bloodstream by not releasing it out of lungs entirely. Things LIke asthma COpd, Emphasime, SMOKING! all keep it in. For example folks who are having a asthma attack wheezing when they exhale that air even if you breethed it in from your nose isn't getting out completely the lower parts of your lungs which as a visual thing of a upside down tree where the lims are infact the parts your air travels down is inflamed so the Co2 which should be exhaling is sticking with you and than incorporating into the blood. Boils down to these conditions makes normal activities like walking up stairs exercising and in general normal living hard. There for they can't do all the things that would give smooth muscle tone. There is not some magic ingredient in co2 in a muscle that makes it lumpy, and if some one is preaching other wise I'd like to see some hard core science results.
So in a long drawn out answer its really not related.
