Answer #8

The meaning of the story is that God gave up his son for us, mankind because he loved us so much. Its one of the first phrases before the bible even begins thats translated in a zillion other languages.’

He sacrificed his son for OUR sins. It just shows that God loves us and understands the mistakes we make as humans that are unavoidable. If you want me to go into detail, I suppose you could funmail? =]

Answer #9

That’s what he sent Jesus for, his cruciFICTION was also a sacrifice for the sins of mankind

I don’t think it makes sense, it just seems like a meaning was attached to the story(the bible does that)

The concept of sacrificing humans in appeasement of gods, is quite ancient nonsense as well are gods

Answer #10

Jesus and God are the same. They both new that Jesus would die on the cross. In the Agony in the Garden, Jesus, knowing he was going to die, asked God to change it meaning God knew about it. Also in the old testament, God told the prophets that his son, Jesus, would come and die for their sins.

Answer #11

Our lives are set how they will happen, but of course there are choices that can influence change.

…contradictory…

Answer #12

Jesus knew He would die (for our sins) in order to make mankind acceptable to God - for those who receive freely offered Salvation:

“God gave Jesus to die for our sins, and He raised Him to life, so that we would be made acceptable to God” (Romans 4:25)
