Why does my stomach ache now that I'm on crutches?

I am on crutches since the beginning of this week and today my stomach hurts since I finally went to school yesterday(fractured my ankle). My arms hurt. Am I getting stronger? also my stomach hurts, could my stomach be tightening up? I’m not exactly skinny and my mom said thats whatit was doing, I dont know. Also how can I make my crutches hurt less. I’m about 5’6” or 5’7”…would messing with the height of crutches maybe work?

Its because your using your upper body strength and muscles you dont use often.

your arms are tired because of the crutches that you use to support your leg, messing with the height thing worked for me, I made it smaller… your stomach hurting is questionable tho, go see a doctor

Your stomach hurting has nothing to do with the crutches. Your arms hurt because they’re not used to doing that much work. Also, if your crutches hurt too much under the arms, you can tape some hand towels to the top of them. Makes them a little cooshier. :)

You actually use your ab muscles quite a bit while on crutches. I’ve been on crutches way too many times! I’ve sprained my ankle I don’t know how many times. I also fractured my ankle twice with 2 surgeries. I dislocated my knee and tore a ligament. So unfortunately, I know what you’re going through.

You are just giving your ab muscles and arm muscles a good exercising that they may not have been normally getting. Messing with the height probably wont help the sore muscles, time will only help this.

Once your muscles get used to doing this work on a regular basis, you’ll be fine. Might not be a bad idea to keep working those muscles out after you’re done with the crutches. Good luck!
