why do people like obama?!?

Answer #1

I like Obama because of his opinions and voting record…

Voted YES on limiting soldiers’ deployment to 12 months. (Jul 2007) Voted YES on implementing the 9/11 Commission report. (Mar 2007) Voted YES on preserving habeus corpus for Guantanamo detainees. (Sep 2006) Voted YES on requiring CIA reports on detainees & interrogation methods. (Sep 2006) Voted NO on extending the PATRIOT Act’s wiretap provision. (Dec 2005) Voted YES on restricting business with entities linked to terrorism. (Jul 2005) OBAMA on gun control - Stop unscrupulous gun dealers dumping guns in cities. (Jul 2007) Keep guns out of inner cities–but also problem of morality. (Oct 2006) Ban semi-automatics, and more possession restrictions. (Jul 1998) Voted NO on prohibiting lawsuits against gun manufacturers. (Jul 2005)

America cannot sanction torture; no loopholes or exceptions. (Sep 2007) Repeal Don’t-Ask-Don’t-Tell. (Aug 2007) Support veterans via the Dignity for Wounded Warriors Act. (Aug 2007) We are no safer now than we were after 9/11. (Aug 2007) Register women for draft, but not for combat. (Jul 2007) Close Guantanamo and restore the right of habeas corpus. (Jun 2007) Address the deficiencies in the VA system. (Jun 2007) The cost of the Iraq war should not shortchange VA benefits. (Jun 2007) Make sure the outpatient facilities work for veterans. (Jun 2007) Get first responders the healthcare and equipment they need. (Mar 2007) Comprehensive plan for our veterans healthcare. (Mar 2007) Need to be both strong and smart on national defense. (Oct 2006) Grow size of military to maintain rotation schedules. (Oct 2006)

“why do people like obama?!?”

Haven’t you been keeping up? Obama is a Muslim, he refuses to say the pledge of allegiance, and he went to a church where the pastor once said “Gd Dmn America”.
What more do you need to know about him? He shouldn’t even be running for president!

Ah…well, that was fun. I needed to crack myself up a little bit. Anyway, I agree with filletospam about Obama’s overall appealing traits. Many people see in him what the nation saw in Kennedy in 1960. And it comes at a time when the country is going through another “national malaise”. This is helping Obama enormously. People like what they hear from him about reversing all of the things Bush did, and he’s targeting the audiences that have lost the most from the Bush administration’s policies (which is a pretty wide audience).

mjax…I am crying while I read this. boo hoo. can you imagine if it were her “time of the month”? she might just nuke everyone… It saddens me when I read a post such as that from a woman…

Answer #4

In general because Mr Obama is young, attractive, articulate, and charismatic.

Of course it helps that the Bush presidency has been so ineffective. After 8 years of our country loosing ground in almost every conceivable way being for change is the smart thing to do. 4 more years of the status quo only promises more foreclosures, more poverty, more un- and underemployment, less security, less national prestige and a lower standard of living.

Obama can be seen as the anti-Bush. Bush rose to prominence in spite of being a poor businessman and a mediocre governor of Texas largely because of his family name. Obama rose to provenance because of his own qualities; he got no boost from being born into a political dynasty.

“she would probably start crying when under attack”

Yeah, you’re probably right. I never thought of that. She’s a woman, right? An emotionally vulnerable female who cries on camera when campaigning. So she’d probably lose it if the country came under attack. What was I thinking…Hillary, a strong, prepared, viable candidate?

Thanks for the original insight. I wonder why no one in the media ever pointed this out when she cried before.

Answer #6

People just love Obomma because they say that he’s for change and that, he’s going to take this country back to the way the ratticle left wingers of the Democratic Party wants. He’s a disgrace and, a flip flopper. I’m not bothered by race or anything, I just don’t like his views on the country or his morrals. He is someone that I don’t want in the White House, but, if he wins, well I guess we’ll have to cope with his policies.

Answer #7

each person has his/her own opinion, so you can’t compain about why people like him more, cause you don’t even know what’s going’ around inside their minds!! lol maybe a girl just finds out her boyfriend likes him, and she starts pretending that she like him too just to show her boyfriend that they’re a perfect match, lol that’s what happens sometimes, but they never admit it, even if they broke up with ‘em!!
