Why do I like drinking soo much?

I think im a alcoholic. Everyday all I think about is drinking, I drink every single day if its just one beer or 12. I will go into a store and if I pass by the alcohol I will just sit there for like 30 minutes just wanting it. Also I can drink a whole 1.5 liter bottle of wine and not be that drunk, thats a lot to drink and not get trashed, someone tell me im not a alcoholic!!!

The ONLY person who can truly determine if you are an alcoholic…is yourself. and I can tell you that there isn’t an alcoholic alive (or dead) who wasn’t “infatuated” with alcohol from the first drink…”infatuation” easily turns into obsession when you’re talking about a drug.

Mikeh has some of the facts right but not all…MANY alcoholics go to work everyday…function in relationships…(actually, this delusion keeps many from having to admit they are addicted)…

One thing Mikeh does have right…one drink is never enough…no matter how many promises you make yourself…or others…once that first drink has been downed, you’re looking for another…(however, I tested myself with this theory, and found I could drink a beer and leave…a lot of the time…it was perfect test to delude myself that I was not an alki)…

Being highly aware of the possibilities can only work to your advantage…pay close attention to what happens when you drink.

Alcoholism is not just liking alcohol. It is a physical and psychological dependence on it to the point where it has become impossible to function at work, school, or in social relationships without the effects of the drug. It’s also usually characterized by the inability to control one’s drinking once you start, so the fact that you can enjoy one beer and not feel the need to continue is a sign that you are treating alcohol with a measure of respect.

However, if you’re standing in a store staring for 30 minutes at a display case, your problem is not alcoholism. It’s that you have way too much damn free time. Get a hobby, for pity’s sake.

Answer #3

You need to talk to a professional about these habits before it gets out of control or you hurt yourself or someone…your future.

Answer #4

I fully agree with Mikeh. IT definetly does not seem like Alcoholism but more of an infatuation with Alcohol.
