How does the system decide how many points someone gives when they "like" a question?

Whenever I receive an alert saying that someone has given me x amount of points, the number of points is usually different, why? How is it that I get 1 point for some answers, and 7 for others?

Answer #1

The points were set up according to category, so some of the questions in a category that typically have tougher questions to answer will offer more points than a category with all simple questions.

Answer #2

Okay, what are some of the “tougher” categories?

Answer #3

Hmmm…jobs and money earn you 7 points, Home & garden is 5 points….education & school/computers & tech gets you 3 points.

Answer #4

Thanks. :)
