What are some stress-relief things I can do that can help me deal with hating someone that I have no choice but to be around?

Answer #1

what i usually do if im forced to be around people id rather not be, i go home and hit something..hard. i get really ticked off and just want to destroy something, and destroy it then, yanno what i mean? so i go to my room, close the door, and start beating things up. a punching bag might help, but i usually throw things instead. makes me feel like ive hurt something, but not the person im mad at. you could also talk it out w someone you can confide in…thats a great thing i do as well. and if i have no one to talk to in person, i talk to myself. might make me weird, but i do. gets it all out of me.

Remember that blowing up completely isnt going to solve anything. Calm yourself. Breathe steadily, count down from 100. Think to urself over and over, its okay. its okay. i can handle this. It would help if you told me who you hated and how you are being forced to be around with them, so i can help you more

usually a part of growing up is dealing with people we dont necessarily want to be around…especially if they happen to be friends, family or soon to be family! First of all inhale & exhale 10 times with eyes closed and focused on nothing at all…helps clear the mind & eases the soul before entering what I like to call the lion’s den! :P

Now the best way to do it is convince yourself it is just for a few hours til the next bitter encounter…while there avoid all eye contact & conversation unless you absolutely have to… smile breath and answer politely…then pardon yourself to the ladies room or hopefully to a place where you can get some breathing room, like outside the balcony or terrace or backyard for that matter.there goes another 30 mins & that is 30 mins minus the person’s voice or face!

try to keep busy help out, clear things off a table is how i tend to do it…keeps me away minus all the damn questions…phony inquiries as if they even care… by now at least another 30 mins so that is one hour minus the person…only 3-4 more to go…you can always say your head is aching…perhaps a miniature rest in another room for an hour…just long enough to kill another hour…then unfortunately have to rejoin by this time its either halfway done with desert on the agenda…can always make yourself useful..the kitchen caalways use a pair of hands & by god its better then dealing with the person who you despise… drying the silverware is always a fav of mine…minus the cups & dishes!!!! :)

there ya go last hour to put up with the person, get to know someone there & ask them if they would like to catch some fresh air…have a nice convo with them & before you know it its time to leave…where did the time fly so fast?! ohh my! DONE :P

hope this helped! :)

I work with a lady who is very annoying, and passive aggressive. I have learned to ignore her for the most part, but some days it just gets to be a bit too much. Luckily, I can joke around with my boss about how annoying she is, which helps a lot. (everyone in the building agrees she is rather annoying, but she gets the job done so we tolerate her). Other than that, I do work in a separate room form her, and listen to the radio a lot, so I can always turn it up so I can’t hear her from the other room.
