Why do so many people think you cant understand, or be as commited to god just because you are young?

1 Timothy 4:12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

When you are young its easy to believe everything someone tells you. You also want to believe that there is a higher being, but you most likely dont know how bad things can really get, and that you CANT fix everything with a prayer or by believing in a higher being, as you grow older you will understand more & develop your own opinion and not believe what you were taught to believe.

Are you telling me why i cant be as commited to god because i am young? or what people think?

I’ve always felt like anyting is possible, but the one thing that will always be a hard fact to me is God’s existance. Honestly, im not being ignorant, but thats how it is to me. And you know, other people will believe what they want to and most of the time u cant change that. age doesnt have anything to do with it. a person will believe what they want to AT THAT MOMENT in their lives. like one day, a 10 year old could worship a statue, and then the next day he could worship God, but then five years later he might want to convert to the islamic religion, and so on. its all about opinions you form everyday and honestly i think from the time someone turns five they are able to form their own opinions. as for me, from the time i found out about God i knew that it was the only way. like one day i was all “psh what God? You show me your God.” and then some things happened along my life that changed that, and than all of a sudden it became clear to me. And now when people ask me if God exists i spit out the answer so fast it scares me. so i am commited and always will be and age has nothing to do with my commitment. one day it wasnt, and the next it was.

Nice…i dont read the bible all too much. as a matter of fact, i hardly ever read it. I just feel as if i know as much about God as i need to know, and i dont need to read some stories in a book that i feel may or may not be real. But i feel like God does speak to you throught it, but some things in there just u know….

Look at this. Women are not dumb, ignorant or stupid. Men in the past didn’t want women to know. So kept the truth and knowledge from them. The history of man is man wanted a someone to serve them.
I have a theory. God created spirits, right. Spirits do not have a body type, man or woman. There is no sex type in a spirit. If some power, what ever that is, wanted a servant type, so he created a woman. And the male counter part kept the female counter part as a servant to it.
It’s all BULL that man has to have all knowledge and power. It should be to the one who can make the best choices for the self and the group. The only thing ‘GOD’ has done is give the spirit free choice. And from free choice he reaps his rewards, good or bad. God doesn’t punish, man punishes himself or reward himself through his choices. God only supplies the want.

Answer #8

Some peoples faith grows stronger with age. Just because you get older does not mean that you will automatically develop an opposite opinion of your religion and stop believing in it. Some people believe that events in life have cemented their faith rather than shake it. Many realize that prayer does not fix everything. Many accept the fact that if their god does not see fit for their prayers to be answered in the way they want, then thats fine.

Answer #9

some people are just raised to think things like that. just like some people believe theyre too young to love. i bet some people say they must be too young because maybe they dont fully understand everything therefore they believe they cant fathem the concept of god himself.
