Can my Mom press rape charges on my boyfriend?

well see I am 17 and my boyfriend is 22 and well my mom wants to push rape charges against him and I have only had sex with him once and I dont think she can push charges can she?

Age of consent in IN is 16, but it is stat rape if you’re a minor, and so it gets complicated. Just deny it. Unless your mum has proof that you had sex there’s not much the police can do

Actually it wouldn’t be your mom pressing charges. She can report it but it would actually be the STATE pressing charges. You’re a minor and he’s an adult which makes sex between you two illegal. It’s called statutory rape and he should know better. (that’s why minors are called “jailbait”) He would then forever be considered a “sex offender”

Yes she can because you were underage. Now I don’t know how well it would stand out in court without your testimony but that’s the future.
