Can your lip piercing get infected if you take the ring out about an hour after you pierce it?

i just peirced my lip but i decided i didnt want it, plus im soo scared cuz my mom issoo happy today and she REALLY didnt want me to get it…. so pissed at her, i did it myself…. but i took it out like an hour later cuz yea i didnt want her to be mad at me, plus it looked a little too low anyways/…. will it get infected? i dont have sea salt … :((

Answer #1

It probably will because you did it yourself . Usually in a first aid kit you can get something to clean it a bit and that might help if you dont have something else to clean it with .

Answer #2

theres a possibility it will, just keep it clean and do NOT put a bandage over top of it, it needs air and to heal.

Yes it can be at first the hole is very sensitive to air.

Answer #12

Oh dear. Well, as a piercing veteran myself, I’d say it probably won’t get infected unless you’re prone to infection, or if the needle you used wasn’t sterilized. Oral piercings heal up very quickly. DO NOT use peroxide or alcohol-based products to clean it, as those are not meant for puncture wounds. I suggest using anti-bacterial soap, like Dial or something. (:

Answer #13

well u probably shoudnt take it out after only having it for an hour, it can close back up super fast

Answer #14

Any time you ever do at home piercings, theres a big chance it can get infected. The best thing to do since it wasnt professional, is just take it out, and keep it clean with dial soap. I highly recomend you use dial, for the fact that when I did my own piercings at home, I called a local piercings place, and they said dial soap comes in handy, just don’t go crazy with it. I hope this helps! (:
