I've had the industrial bar for about three months. It's not healed yet, still hurts a bit especially when slept on or irritated. I bought two bio-flex retainers for helix piercings that I plan to use for a job interview. Thing is, I have to take it out soon and it is not going to be healed yet, when I take it out, I plan on using the bio-flex retainers. I hear that a lot of the times, the jewelry is what prevents bacteria from getting into the piercing and preventing an infection. What can I do? I don't want to lose this piercing.

If you just put in the retainers you'll be fine, unless it's already infected though. I've done it a lot and I know other people who have too. If you do start to see and infection though go to your piercer before the doctor.

I honestly think you should bring the retainers to your piercer, explain to them your situation, & ask them to change it for you.
