I peirced my own lip a couple days ago, but I didn't starilize the needle first. Stupid I know. Now its infected. I want to get the infection gone, but I wanna keep the peircing. Any Remidees?
Sea salt water soaks. Don't use peroxide/alcohol/neosporn. & if you only pierced it a couple of days ago it might not be infected, it might just be the healing process. The first few days are the worst, & it should be normal for : slight redness, swelling, pain, & gunk on the jewlrey. & for the pain i reccomend ibuprofen. & when you have an infected piercing, you NEVER take out the jewlrey, it'll trap the infection inside the skin & turn into much worse things. good luck.

Buuut be careful caause if the infection gets bad theen ur gnna end up havin to go to the doctor annd they give u these pills thaaat u hafta take for likee 2weeks to help it out.(Happned to me and it suckd) N u caan get staff if it doesn't heal..soo yea jus be careful . My friend diane got an infection annd had 2 go thru surgery-__-
Clean it twice a day with Dial liquid soap. and soak it once a day in sea salt water. 8 oz (1 cup) of hot/warm water mixed with 1/4 tsp. sea salt. This might clear it up, but if not, you should definitely go to the doctor and get something for it.
Don't use peroxide or alcohol. That's NOT recommended for piercings.
Try using hydrogen peroxide. You could also try Epsom salt or sea salt, just melt it in a bit of water, soak it up in a cotton ball and apply it to your infection. Use some ice to reduce the inflammation.
I'm wonderin if it IS infected. I tok the lip ring out to see it I could sqeeez anything out and puss was coming out. thats why I think its infected.
Salt water soaks will help. Dont use peroxide, not only does it kill bad bacteria, it kills the good bacteria that helps it heal.
