Lately I've been jogging a lot. I've become quite as addicted to it. Just today, I noticed a significant difference between my right and left calf. My left is much harder and has a bit of a bulge (muscle?) it's not red or sore. My right is as it always is, some muscle but soft. At most both are tired but not sore or in pain. The fact I'm able to notice the difference is freaking me out Lol. Would I have worked out my left calf much more than my right just from jogging? If it were swollen would I be feeling soreness or pain?
It could be one or the other. You can strengthen one more than the the by landing differently on each you could be using slightly different muscles or be stepping off from a step differently and using the muscle different. If it's not hurting to touch its probably not swollen. I hope thus makes since and helps
I would say that one calf was "already" stronger than the other before you started jogging, just from your normal everyday use, and the jogging developed the stronger one faster.
Just as most people have one arm, hand, ect stronger than the other. I'd say the other calf will "catch" up.
ie: If I haven't worked out in a while, then start again, my right arm gets buffed back up better than the left one at first.
