now i know what you're thinking,"wth are you doing carrying knives boy,are you trying to scare somebody, you think you tough , you coward!!!!!!!!" or something like that , but no, the reason i ask this question is because my friends do, idk why but they like carrying these knives and they think they are cool and tough, stuff like that, but i wonder if its illegal for them to have them?
Its not illegal to have a knife at all but it had to be under a certain length, it can't be certain makes and in some places you have to have a permit to have it concealed. I can't speak for everywhere but in Canada you cant own any knife that opens "automatically by gravity or centrifugal force or by hand pressure applied to a button, spring or other device in or attached to the handle of the knife." Knives with sheaths. knives that take both hands to open and any knife with a fixed blade are legal in Canada. Knives only become the law's concern in Canada after being used to threaten, injure or kill someone. But honestly where you live, your intent with the knife and how strict the cops are what it really depends on. I live in a pretty small town, every Tom, Richie and Harry carry a knife, and no one cares because they are typically used for work.
No I wasn't thinking that haha. And yes I'm pretty sure it is illegal, atleast where I live anyway. Recently a 13 year old was arrested for carrying a large knife at the local skatepark which is about a 2 minute drive from where I live. People say it's for self defence but you wouldn't need to defend yourself if you weren't wandering the park at night! Plus there are a lot of gang-related violence these days involving teens so it would make sense for it to be illegal.
No. Where I live, you have to be 18 to buy, a knife, or even to touch one in a store let alone carry it around.
Yes it is illegal
