How can a 17 year 10 month year old female move out of her house?

My girlfriend turns 18 on February 3, 2010. Her mother and stepdad COMPLETELY ignore her even after being asked to talk to her because she has severe emotional problems. She is in need of Dr. appointments which her mother refuses to schedule her or pay for. She’s spent all her child support money on buying her own needs and not the needs of her daughter. Being so close to the age of 18 and being independent, can she legally move out of her emotionally unstable home?

Answer #1

If she is in danger and has emotinal problems that can cause her to suasside then contact cps. THis is considered some type of abuse.

Also it’s not a very long time she was able to hang for almost all her life she can wait you know a little longer. But if she is in real danger then report it!!!

leggally she can not move out.

good luck!:)

Answer #2

It’s 2 months away, anything you try to do now would be seriously complicated. Unless she is in danger (which you should report immediately), it may be easiest simply to wait the two months. She cant even legally sign a rental agreement till then anyways…

Answer #3

She cannot legally move out without permission until she’s 18 or has been emancipated. She can however, go to the doctor for medical attention. The doctor will then be required to report the neglect to the State. Once this is done, she’ll probably be out of the house.

Answer #4

neglecting a child is wrong and I think againct the law… infact its a form of child abuse

she’ll need a job to get out to rent a place I think

or she can try gettin on the council list

Answer #5

Well being as close to 18 as she is there would really be no point. The neglect would be reported but what would they do with her, put her in a girls home for 2 months or a foster home? It would be pointless. she does have a job and is completely capable of living on her own. we plan to rent a 1 bedroom apartment when she turns 18, unless it’s possible it could be sooner.
