How to deal with my dad?

.. My dad is a nice caring dad & all, but his nickname for me is ‘elephant’ or ‘ hippo’ .. He is always telling me and making jokes that my legs are short, & that i look like a hippo .. I honestly dont think im ‘fat’.. Maybe im not in my best shape, but i know im not that fat .. & it hurts, .. i dont want to soon have an eating disorder, help ?

Tell him you dont like him calling you that, if he’s caring as you said he will respect that and find a different nickname.

I think you just need to set down with him and have a nice, clam talk. Tell him it kind of bothers you when he calls you those nicknames. Tell him it makes you feel like he is making fun of you in a way, with out meaning to. Ask him if he could just make up a different nickname, or something for you. Something that you will be more comfortable with. You said he was nice and caring, so he shouldn’t have a problem with it. :)

lol i dont think that is a big deal he is your dad and he loves you… and loves to be around you if he was not sooo he would not make that jokes with you and didnt even have a temper to talk to you. when iam with my dad i just focus on making him laugh and happy so i dont care about myself.beside he is not a stranger just think about it..how beautiful to make other laugh even if they laugh at yourself… this time just look at his smile and laughing and see how beautiful it is to make some one happy.
