I hate my dad, how do you deal with it?

I am 16 and my dad is 7, in his head. He tries to squash me and my bro (16) with his mental bagage and it takes a while to unstick myself from his burdens, its like a sick game for him? This depresses me and I am afraid it will influece me when I am on my own, im even more afraid it already has. I havent talked to him for 4 months, I avoid him and I dont like being in the same room, I wish he would drop dead. Please help.

I hate my dad too, but I’ve told him why I hate him & it was a huge wake up call for him & now hes trying to change. so I say just sit down with your dad and tell him why you hate him & I think he’ll understand and atleast make an effort to change

Answer #6

Well everything you experience in life influences you. That’s just how human beings are. But it doesnt have to be a bad thing. Sometimes bad things can influence you to try your hardest to stay away from them, and so it produces good results. You just have to be aware of stuff I guess. Do you have a school counselor you can talk to?

Answer #7

well…if you really don’t get on, if you feel up to it, move out. Your old enough to. Or you could tell him how you feel, if he cares he’ll try and change. Just wondering, have you got a mam? Because if you do, ask her advice. hope this helps x
