Why can Canadian people mimic English accents but the English people can't mimic the Canadian accents?

The could if they truely wanted to, They’d probably need to take some speech therapy classes. Thy probabl dont want to have a canadian accent an why should they? They should be proud of where they come from and their cultural differences.

Uhh,, have you ever heard Hugh Laurie talk? He has an English accent and does the Canadian/American one perfect. xD

Not all Canadians can speak in an English accent, and some English people can speak in a Canadian accent. You cannot judge an entire population based on one or two people.

ok , so you said Canadian right, were you referring to a Maritimes, Quebec, Ontarian or Albertan accent. Those are the four distinct accents I could think of. I worked in a phone centre for a while doing phone surveys across the country and there is a lot more difference between Ontario and Alberta than I would have ever imagined. As for it being easier for Canadians to do British accents I think it has to to with the fact that our accents are more just toned down and slightly modified versions of our parent country so it is easier to play it up whereas the British would have to try to tone down their accent a lot which I find much harder.
