Why do we called Caucasian people white,and African/African American people black?

Caucasians are pale not white(even though they are some VERY plae people)And Africans aren’t Black there Brown and some are a VERY dark brown but not black? Why Every Latino people are seen as Mexican? Why do people think Chinese and Japanese people look the same and speak the same language and make fun of them?

Generalization, its also alot easier to call all caucasion people white when filling out forms or just describing a person instead of saying they were slightly tanned, caramel, pale while, ghostly white, porcelain colored, etc. Its just simpler. Same thing goes for african americans.

the terms comes from studies made to determine the origin of each race it all has to do with the facial figures of that particular race, also intesting is that not all Caucasians are white, indians arabs are also sometimes refered to as Caucasian. Anthropology usually classify race into three groups please forgive my spelling negrionids(blacks) caucasian (white, indian, arab) and mongoloids(Chinees and Japanees ect.).

if anything “black” peoples are brown/caramel, and “white” people are tanish, unless there pale as chese. American cheese, which is white, not chedder, which is yellow, which we call asain people… wow, i just explained something even i didnt understand :D

white people technically are not caucasion. The term caucasion really refers to a particular group of people from the actual caucasion region. However, because they had fair skin, it became a term used for white people in general. The reason people think asian peple look the same is because the genes they have are so dominant there is little obvious variation to an outsider. As Mandyloo says, black and white are just generalisations.
