Why do you believe in God?

Why do you believe in God, for what reason?

Answer #1

After hearing the Good News at the age of 9, I asked Him to come into my heart, my life - He did ! - this is what I know: God being pure cannot even look upon sin - man, even in his very best state is a sinner - on judgement day, either: your sins are covered by the blood-shed sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross (salvation and only salvation - being a nice person isn’t good enough - even at our very best, we are but filthy rags), and remembered no more or they are not (your sins are not covered) - where God’s great love comes into play is, He provided a WAY (Jesus) for us not to perish and live in Heaven with Him (He certainly didn’t have to do this but did because He loved us so) - if you read carefully John 3:16, this is exactly what it says - each person will either accept or reject, you must decide for yourself and yes, it’s so important, it has eternal consequences - He Loves you and wants you to accept God’s free gift to man - Jesus…Hope this helps !!

The higher power who is greater than me is the God of the Universe, the One the only Christ Jesus, the Living God himself. He is the only One who can change lives by His Holy Spirit. Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father above.

The after life will be so grand, so remarkable, so different than now because there will be no sorrow, no pain and suffering, no more tears, only joy in the Lord Jesus because you will be with Him forever and ever and ever.

If He reigns in your heart, you believe God, a big difference from believing in God! Even the demons believe in God.

We can rely on things unseen, for His presence will be revealed in time. It is by faith we have been saved by grace. We all have faith that we will wake up in the morning, that water will come out of the tap when we turn it on.

Is there a bunch of people floating around in the air just waiting to land in our TV? We can’t see them, but by faith when we turn on the TV, people appear. When a radio is turned on, we can’t see the people, but by faith we hear them talk.

Answer #3

I know what you mean God sometimes is an enigma that is what is so wild because when you do get to know him, its so simple you wonder how you never saw it before. god created this world and gave it to us, we handed it over to the devil in the garden and now he has control over most of it. God has gotten control back from the devil thru Jesus and is trying to give it back to us. If we accept it, we start a growth process from salvation to maturity people are in all areas of growth. some may act like children while others act older and older to maturity. simple the part of the world still in chaos is where all the deaths and accidents are occuring, He would love to entervine but he is still waiting for the people of His kingdom to move into all the areas. ultimely He doesn’t force anything on us. my interpretation is very basic and only my opinion.

Answer #4

hmmm good question I believe in him because I have always felt like there was something out there listening to me, but then again I could have just been talking to myself, either way it has always helped.

Answer #5

“I and the Father are One, he who sees Me sees the Father,” said Jesus.

We do not see people in the air, but when the TV is turned on, there they are. Pull out your sock drawer and there are your socks, do you expect to see boots? It is by faith that when you put socks in there and pull open the drawer, there they are.

Answer #6

“… Pull out your sock drawer and there are your socks, do you expect to see boots? It is by faith that when you put socks in there and pull open the drawer, there they are.”   No, it is logic backed by science that lets you KNOW that your socks will still be there.

FAITH is when you leave for work each morning driving your car. It is faith that lets you believe that you will get there without any accident or other mishap.

Answer #7

“Is there a bunch of people floating around in the air just waiting to land in our TV? We can’t see them, but by faith when we turn on the TV, people appear. When a radio is turned on, we can’t see the people, but by faith we hear them talk.”

I prefer to rely on science. The images appear and the sounds come out because the devices were designed specifically to do so by people familiar with such thing as the electromagnetic spectrum, etc. No faith is required.

Answer #8

I often wonder whether we simply are born, live and die thereby completely ceasing to exist.

I perceive that all is too grand to simply have been the product of “unguided” evolution. I perceive that there is a purpose behind it all and that we are part of that purpose.

In contrast to believing in the Bible, I believe:

  1. That God is that Creative/Causative Force that exists before the beginning of the universe/time and continues to exist outside of the universe and time.

  2. That “Force” created/caused the spiritual/soul entities to come into being.

  3. The spiritual/soul entities continued the “Creation” with the “Big Bang”. And, through evolution and possibly subtle manipulations, have caused the current state of affairs.

  4. The spirits/souls choose to inhabit the various physical bodies that they have created in order to experience physical reality.

  5. When bodies die the spirit/soul continues to exist and often times reincarnates into another body in order to continue its growth.

  6. The purpose of it all is for the spirits/souls (entities) to gain knowledge and experience and to ultimately rejoin or evolve back into the Oneness of God.

I choose

I chose to be born, – to live or die, Even the sex, that would be I; I chose the race, from which to appear, Also my wealth, my health and my fear.

I chose my trials and stumbling blocks, And the legs I would use, in all of those walks; I chose my sadness, my joy and my love, I chose to serve and not be above.

I chose this life – with all of its dues, And with each dawn, again I choose; The experiences for me that wait ahead, To be alive, or be claimed dead.

And of the future lives I’ve yet, It is my choice that I begat; All the things, however pleasin’, That shall befall me in those seasons.

From my chosen path I stray, Yet my God any’er turns away; For I have learned – and understand, That where God is – is where I am!

Answer #9

Choices are given to us. Make each one with the decision: “Will this Glorify God.” I’m not perfect either and never will be, until Christ comes back, that is.

Answer #10

YES, becaus ei have a relationship whith him and I know how much he loves me

to many people are hooked on religion and all those rules and all god wants is for you to have a relationship with him

THATS ALL~~~!!!

Answer #11

I believe in GOD because I know he is real.:)

Answer #12

God chose to know you before time started. He chose the perfect timing for your parents to become with child. We are all children of God if we accept His calling. God is as close as our nose on our face, if we let Him in our heart, He will reside and reign there and we are eager to let Him have His way in us to do what is best: serving Him.

Answer #13

“I personally cannot see how anyone can live in this extremely complex world and think that it just happened into existance…or that it is maintained by happenstance.”

I personally do not see how anyone can live in this extremely complex world and believe that it was created by a perfect being, and that it is maintained by that being.

Answer #14

I’ve been raised a catholic my whole life, so thats why I believe in God. But thinking deeper, I feel many people are looking out for something, somethng so sureal. He gives us hope, he gives us love, and in return we give him our faith and love. Earth cannot be everything out there. God comforts me in prayers as well, I thank him for that.

Great Question! Hope I helped

Answer #15

I just believe that there is something or someone out there greater than me. He is somebody who has to know what the hell is going on and why this world is so sick. If humankind had all of the answers, then why are things still in the screw up shape it is in? I feel that there is a being, a person, a spirit, call it what you will, that knows why all this in the world is going like it is, and has a way out of it. I do not need to seek out his physical presense or view him with my physical eyes, because for me, it would mean that I didn’t believe in him anyway, and if I don’t believe in him, and see him, will I worship him? I don’t think so.

Answer #16

I’m probably going to get cr*p at my answer after this but I’m a non believer, well I’m not but I’m unsure really, I lawyas have been. I’ve never been brought up to believe or not in anything, so I don’t know, I think there must be something up there because I believe there is a heaven because I think thats where people go when they die, but it’s never really been explained to me to believe, lots of my family have died, so I think well if there was a god why would he take away my 8 year old cousin? why would he let my 23 year old cousin with so much potential be murdered by thugs? I don’t get it, I could go on forever, but I’m very confused on religion!

Answer #17

I believe in God because he came to me in a time in my life where nothing else helped and He really literally saved me. He is also the only one who has never left me. Once I knew about him, now I know Him personally and no one can tell me He is not because I have the experience of his intervention. people who don’t know him are because they haven’t really looked for Him, and they are afraid of giving someone else control. I was there at one time, its busy but lonely at the same time and really sad. now I have a goal and a path.

Answer #18

I personally cannot see how anyone can live in this extremely complex world and think that it just happened into existance…or that it is maintained by happenstance.

Answer #19

So basically, we have no free will and god decides everything for us, warmheart? Or just getting pregnant? If someone cheats and gets pregnant, is it not their fault, because god decided it was the right time?

Answer #20

Lol, what mertzy said…

Answer #21

How does that work with what you said earlier? Didn’t you just say that god determines when someone gets pregnant?

Answer #22

The devil has never been in control. God lets things happen to ultimately Glorify Him. We don’t see the end result right away.

Answer #23

see theres Christianese again. We all as believers know that but someone who is searching and seeing the bad needs to know it doesn’t come from God. ultimately He will come back and defeat the devil and everything will be glorifing

Answer #24

I believe in God because I know Him. That’s not the arrogant ‘spiritual’ equivalent of claiming to be best friends with Vanessa Hudgens, or whoever, because it’s simply what Jesus offers to everyone who follows Him. There are plenty of other things that go towards my faith, but the reason that I keep on with Him is because of that relationship.
