20% of atheists believe in god, is that true?

I actually saw that survey, and like many surveys, it’s misleading. The actual question asked was “do you believe in a god or higher power”. The question is ambiguous, which of course leads to confusion and error.

no, I dodnt know were you get your facts from but thats incorrect sure some athiets would have there doubts just like some christians will have there doubts as well but nowere near that amount

There was a recent survey to that effect, yeah. Clearly either the wording was poor, or at least 20% of people don’t understand what ‘atheist’ means.

I agree that makes no sense at all..I think its people who are undecided.. like ty said you cant be an atheist and beleive in god…its contradicting urself.. and its stupid.

That doesn’t make any sense. Atheists do not believe in God. How can they be atheists if they believe in God? I don’t get it.

Maybe they call themselves atheists, but are really not sure if they can truly say they don’t believe in God. But they shouldn’t say it at all if they don’t know what they believe, and don’t believe. So even if it was true…it wouldn’t be true because they wouldn’t really be atheists…if that makes sense.
