God being pure cannot even look upon sin - man, even in his very best state is a sinner - on judgement day, either: your sins are covered by the blood-shed sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross (salvation and only salvation - being a good person isn’t good enough), and remembered no more or they are not (your sins are not covered) - where God’s great love comes into play is, He provided a WAY (Jesus) for us not to perish and live in Heaven with Him (He certainly didn’t have to do this but did because He loved us so) - if you read carefully John 3:16, this is exactly what it says - each person will either accept or reject, you must decide for yourself - Jesus is my Lord and Savior…Take care !!

Answer #2

if you dont want to go to church dont. The only reason I go is because I like having a relationship with him. Going to church is a sacturary to help to remind you to stay strong and not give in to earthly sins

Answer #3

He may have existed historically, but his main place is as the central figure in a series of morality plays called the bible. A more modern version of Aesop, where each tale is a story used to illustrate a point.

The spirit of this age, is anti-God, anti-Christ, and it tugs at young vulnerable minds, leading many astray. This subject of This Man Jesus, is the most important one you will ever be faced with, what you do with it, will have eternal consequences for you. I urge you to seek the truth, seek God himself, he is more than able to lead you the right way, consider yourself worthty to find the truth, and then decide what you want to do with it. According to the holy bible, you have a heaven to gain. This is worth what ever effort it takes to obtain.

Answer #5

I don’t believe such a man existed at all (although I admit its possible that the Jesus of the Bible is loosely based on an ordinary human being that was not god and made no miracles).

in my opinion, the Gospel of Mark - upon which the other Gospels are based and ultimately all of Christianity - was originally written as an allegorical fiction. Jesus represents the Jewish people during the latter part of the 1st century.

Answer #6

YES YOU SHOULD GO, GOD IS SOOO IMPORTANT THAT HE SHOULD BE THE HEAD OF YOUR LIFE, READ THE BIBLE AND GET TO KNOW HIM, HE’S WAITING ON YOU, ACTUALLY HE’S WAITING UPON EVERYONE WHO DIDNT TURN THEIR LIFE OVER TO HIM, ITS BEST IF you DO TURN your LIFE OVER TO HIM, BEFORE ITS TOO LATE CAUSE HE IS THE ONE WHO WILL JUDGE YOU WHEN IT COMES TO THE TIME FOR YOU TO DIE, (NOT trying TO SCARE YOU) and I wrote this in capital letters so it cant catch your attention I guess, and im 14 by the way

I think Jesus is great. But I had to find that out for myself. When I was a teenager I went to church and generally tried to be good (or at least tried not to let anyone find out if I was bad!) I was a bit confused about Jesus. I believed in God, but where did Jesus come in?

One Easter I remember thinking: ‘Good one, God. They thought they’d killed Jesus but you rose him up again! You win!’ And that was about all I understood about Jesus. I kind of knew that wasn’t enough, though…

So the thing that made a difference for me was finding some Christian friends (in a youth group or whatever) and finding out how their faith was different to mine. Thye talked about ‘knowing Jesus’. That sounded weird, and possibly fanatical. But they seemed pretty good people - in fact, I could see that ‘knowing Jesus’ was making them better people. So I took them seriously.

Like people are saying, reading the Bible (the Gospels first) made me feel I knew Jesus better. Going to a different church also helped sometimes. My church was fine, but I knew about everything they did, so going somewhere different helped me to think things through and see different ways of worshipping Jesus. It was easier to get to know Jesus in new ways, rather than the old ways.

I read the Gospels, looked at the worship, the dramas etc at the new church, and then PRAYED! And I’m still a Christian now, about 20 years on.

So my advice would be to try something similar - the faith you may have had as a child won’t be much use as an adult. You need to find out for yourself, think things through and pray for yourself. Christian friends will help you, and so can your church or, possibly, a different one if you think you need to look a bit wider. But don’t give Jesus up, is my advice.

Answer #8

Because I don’t believe in the bible (like bimjob said… I think it’s just stories to illustrate a point and infuses morality in people.)

But I did take history classes… and it’s been proven that he did exist. (just like cleopatra, Homer etc.)

I believe Jesus existed in history… but that he had supernatural powers and all that hooblaha.. no.

Church in my opinion is a waste of time. Why should someone have to tell you what to believe in?

…and please don’t flame me and tell me I’m going to hell blah blah blah. The question is What do you think about Jesus. this is what I think, it’s my opinion.

Jesus rules I go to church and im catholic. I get steamed at people who make fun of him or hate him or whatever but hey thats their religion… BUT wether it is jesus which I beleive had powers or something else… Something had to have very powerful powers… the universe didnt make itself you know… and whoever that powerful person is who made him? what his parents? well who made them and what did they stand on if there wasnt even a universe yet? do you get what I mean? Its confusing you will never know…

Answer #11

Todaly - that’s interesting. One of the things that always surprises me when I read the Gospels is how much I like Jesus. I think people are agreed on the fact that they admire him, as fact or as fiction. But I’ve heard it said that it’s impossible to invent a perfect human who is also likeable. Look at ‘Pollyanna’, for a revolting example. She is close to perfect, and just about everyone who’s ever read those books wants to pick her up and shake her. She’s just sickening. So do you think that it would have been possible to invent Jesus as an allegorical character and still make him so attractive? It would have taken an extraordinary writer, surely?
