What's the best water temperature for taking a shower?

I was just wondering is hot or cold water better for your skin or does the water have no effect at all.

Answer #1

Really warm water dries out your skin :) I don’t know about cold.

Answer #2

Just had a cold shower, felt great! :)

Answer #3

Ew D: I like my showers to be boiling hot lol. So hot that it hurts >:)

Answer #4

Had a cold shower, the same way :)

Answer #5

I take steamy showers. I take cold showers. I guess it all depends on what you like on against your skin.

Answer #6

I heard a cold shower is better than really hot showers. I also heard that warm water is okay at first for opening your pores but at the end of the shower you should change it to cold to close your pores

Answer #7

Cold water is technically the best, it doesn’t dry out your skin and it makes your hair all shiny :)

But I like warm water when I am showering, especially in the winter. Only in summer time will I take cold showers.

Answer #8

i’ve always heard that cold water washes out shampoo and conditioner a lot better than hot water does….

Answer #9

Really? For me its easier to rinse in warm water

Answer #10

I use hot water at first when I am washing, because hot water is supposed to clean. For example, you wash dishes in hot water because it disinfects. You wash your tooth brush in hot water because it disinfects. Hot water kills germs. But I like to use cold water at the end of my shower for my hair, and it feels good. Plus it seems like if you use cold water right before you get out, when you get out, the air doesn’t seem so cold.

Answer #11

idk really….. my mom and most places i get my hair done tell me that so i just listen to them…

Answer #12

I use cold water for my toothbrush!

Answer #13

When you clean it or when you brush? I use hot water when I clean it. For example, if the tooth brush fell on the floor, you can either stick it in a pot of boiling water to disinfect, or run it under really hot water to disinfect.

Answer #14

For both, cleaning and brushing. Odd, I don’t remember any one else in my family doing otherwise.

Answer #15

Well, it’s just how I do things. I have just always heard that hot water disinfect. Which is why people at home, and restaurants wash their dishes in hot water. But if you don’t there is nothing wrong with that.

Answer #16

I heard that to somewhere, thanks for the insight :)

Answer #17

No problem. :)

Answer #18

And where from chilly to boiling. All depends on the weather and my mood.
