Rivals working as a team

President-elect Obama has picked three of his former rivals for the Democratic nomination, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and Bill Richardson, as White House staff members. I wonder if he will nominate Dennis Kucinich, Mike Gravel, Tom Vilsack, Christopher Dodd, or John Edwards as members of his staff. I have heard that Tom Vilsack is being considered for Secretary of Agriculture. I do not think John Edwards would be picked, considering the controversy with his affair. Do you think that it could happened? What would be the impact of Obama doing this?

Answer #1

Kucinich is the only one that I actually respected out of the bunch. He isnt working with rivals though, the rival is the republican party. I doubt he will actually appoint any republcians and take them seriously.

tseirpeht, where exactly do you get your information? Are you psychic? You already know how seriously Obama will take republicans. Do you really think he won’t take Gates seriously?

I doubt seriously that Kucinich and Gravel would be, but Vilsack & Dodd I could see being involved. Edwards I thought would have made a great attorney general, but he screwed himself (no pun intended).

Answer #3

I don’t think the VP is considered White House staff.
