Would a joint Obama/Hillary ticket work and would Hillary do it?

On the Democratic side - a two-fold question: Would a joint Obama/Hillary ticket work ? - and would Hillary settle for the number 2 spot (VP) ?

Answer #1

Good point thedude - it’s definitely possible the door would be slammed in Obama’s face and if Hillary’s #2, can’t help but wonder about Marci Park - as bad as she wants to be President - the best predictor of the future is the past, as DR Phil says.

Answer #2

Yes, it would work. The only people that are truly divided over the race between Clinton and Obama are Clinton and Obama themselves (and their staffs). The average Democratic voter does not support one and despise the other. The Republicans seem much more divided over their candidate than the Democrats at this point.

Answer #3

I wonder how that would work, she seems too headstrong for it, but this year’s been so weird, who knows!

Answer #4

…I think she might settle for the #2 spot. The ultimate question is: Would Barrack be as willing as Hillary to listen to Bill’s advice? :)

You just know he won’t be able to resist putting in his 2 cents…

Answer #5

Kind of off the subject, but why is she still married to that loser? I don’t mean in every aspect, just as a husband. I wouldn’t tolerate a cheater for a husband…

Answer #6

Yes, and yes. I saw Hillary hinting at such a thing just today by sayong a joint ticket would be unstoppable. She’s obviously trying to position herself for the VP slot.

…I think she’s right. An Obama/Hillary ticket would beat McCain handsomely.

Answer #7

I think if Clinton were to eke out a win, she would almost have to pick Obama. If Obama wins, I don’t know that he would choose her, nor if she would take it. Some things she said lately seem to indicate she would consider it, but I am doubtful. I think if they were running mates they would be unstopable, no matter who was at the top of the ticket.

Answer #8

“I think if they were running mates they would be unstopable”

We can only hope.

Re; The Bill Clinton thing…looking back at his Presidency, I think it was a much better one than the one we have now. A surplus (!!!), NO wars, no killing of innocent civilians, etc.

Answer #9

You are absolutely correct semi1900. I read that poll of Clinton supporters have and 80% approval rating for Obama, and vice versa. They are both well liked candidates. But they need to stop bashing each other. Particularly Hillary. Since it seems clear that she can’t catch Obama, she should accept it and either quit, or run a positive campaign without damaging the Dems chances in Nov.

Answer #10

I completely agree jimahl, Hillary needs to stop bashing Obama, she’s helping the Republicans!

Just one thing editor, I agree the clinton administration was by far superior, but there were still bombings and civilians being killed… Kosovo for one…
