I've only ever kept wines in a regular fridge. I'm not very classy with my alcohol, though. Some of the time, my wines don't even have real corks, jut the plastic ones. Also I don't need all that much wine, I usually have two bottles (a red and a white) around.
But if you are very picky about your wines, you could probably invest in a wine fridge, like Colleen said.
What kind of wine are you storing in there? Different wines require different storing temperatures. Also, a wine should be laid on its side in storage, to prevent the cork from drying out. It seems awfully wasteful to have a full size fridge that only gives you enough shelf space for half the number of bottles as a wine fridge. I'm actually going for a "no" here.
I dont see any reason why not.
Ya, it stays old either way.
