Can a parent force you to move with them if your about to turn 18 in 7 days but your still in high school but you have a job in Texas.?

Answer #1

If you’re turning 18, i dont think so. Maybe if its before you turn 18, but once you turn 18 you can do whatever you want.

Answer #2

Make a run for it. go into hiding for a week. change ur name and dye ur hair so ur parents wont find u. and then at the end of the week, change ur name back and dye ur hair back and get out of hiding. or, just tell them ud rather stay where u are and that its pointless for u to move.

Answer #3

you should stall them for a week and then purchase your own place. if you have a job, you probably have some money saved up so you should look into an apartment. if you dont think you can pay the monthly all by yourself, find a couple of room mates that both have a good money flow too, you don’t want to have to cover for them all the time.

Answer #4

The truth is, most police/courts won’t bother taking on a case like this - if you’re going to be 18 in a week, it’s not worth their time, so even if your parents tried to force you, the police won’t do anything.

Answer #5

i dont think they can force you, i know its different here in england, from the age of 16 the parents cant force you to do anything!

iagree with irene i think once your 18 they cant force you to do anything :)
