How do I tell my mother im moving out the day I turn 18?

Im 17 now I have about a month left untill I turn 18. I want to move out that day. Im not close to my mom never have been but sometimes I think she thinks I want to stay around her. But I dont I want out. But then I dont know if she will let me go in peace. That and I dont think my step dad will either. I dont want to fight I just want to leave. How should I go about doing this???

thanks 4 the advice but I would tell her where im going but im staying with a gut she hates. I got a job I’ve had it all planned for almost a year my plan is solid but she is crazy and I don’t know what she is going to think

Well yo should let her know sooner rather then later, also make sure you have a solid plan before you do so. Do you know where you’ll be staying? Do you have enough resources to make it last? etc… Because the last thing you want is to have to move back in with your parents.
