How painful are root canals?

Well this is bad news for me O.O

sorry.but i think they can give you some reallly strong painkillers

I dont take pills.

I think it depends on the tooth and root nerve endings. I’ve had a couple and the worst part was the feel of pressure but no actual pain severity. With a good dentist it shouldn’t be so bad or intolerable.

i know it has something to do with the nasal cavity but thats it.

The times and technologies have developed drastically since your Mother’s root canal, sideways. I had a root canal operation done and it was entirely painless, in fact I flirted with the cute dentistry student (she was learning her trade with my teeth lmao) in stupidly muffled and hand gestured speech. Oh she was very pleasant, Mathilde was her name, she was French… I digress!! Anyway, I guess I’m saying that root canals aren’t nearly as painful as they used to be :D

There’s no reason for being dramatic is there? You literally wont feel any pain if they do it right (very high probability on that btw) they use a topical anesthetic on your gums before injecting them with Novocaine. That’s right, the injections are felt as a slight pressure, as if they’re pressing on your gums with their finger. Be sure to tell your dentist (with throat grunts and hand gestures lol) if you feel anything at all during your operation, and they will make it better. Communication is key, that’s why they keep you somewhat conscious during such procedures.
