What does manic panic mean "first shampoo using a PH ACID BALANCED shampoo"??

Is this absolutely necessary… do i need some sort of special shampoo before I use manic panic?

PH is the acididy of something, above 7 is basic ( not acidic at all) and below 7 is more acidic. your skin is usually a ph of 4-6, depending on what you eat and exercise etc. Ph balanced shampoo means its balanced so that it wont mess up your skins natural PH ( your Ph is there so microflora can like keep your skin clean) so i think they have formulated a shampoo that will be less harmful, and more of a PH that is suited for washing your hair.

You’re talking about manic panic hair dye? Perpetualdarkness is quite right, PH is the acidity or alkalinity of something. When the instruction says you need a PH acid balanced shampoo, it’s talking about a shampoo that’s slightly acidic. I’d get a shampoo that is color safe (it should say so on the shampoo).
