Are you a Jehovah's witness?

are you a jehovah witness

Answer #1

not all jehova’s witness’s are like that though… I think their beliefs are a little extreme… But whatever, it’s not my life. I have several jehova’s witness friends and they have never tried to push their religion on me. And I respect their religion as well as they respect my beliefs.

Answer #2

No, I am not a “jehovah witness” but I am proudly “one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.” Please note the correct spelling, capitalization, and the very important apostrophe after God’s name!

Answer #3

that was rude she didnt ask if you wanted to be a follow(above), and no im not a witness but I have been raised around the TRUTH and I do attend the meetings on a regular basis!!!

Answer #4

The new set up for Watchtower magazines is to issue 2 per month. One of these is for public distribution covering a variety of different scriptural topics of interest to the general populace. The other is an issue which contains only the study articles which will be discussed at the weekly meetings. There is nothing secret about them. Anyone is welcome to come to the meetings and anyone is welcome to have a copy of this new study article magazine.

Jehovah Witness are people that have different beliefs on how we should serve God. Just Wikipedia for more information that is not so judgemental, to explain in a little more in detail for you.

I’m not a witness, and I don’t agree with there views and thoughts about god, but one should never down another for what the choose to believe. Wikipedia.com

Answer #6

I am not a witness of Jehovah. I am a cradle Catholic.

I often wonder why Jehovah’s Witnesses walk around door to door with a collection of Catholic books (the bible). The bible as a collection of books has no authority binding on the faithful except by the authority of the Holy Spirit acting through the Catholic Bishops that compiled it.

I have also wondered how the JW concept of the “paradise earth” squares with John 6:53-55. (Unless you eat of the flesh of the Son of Man and drink of his blood you shall have no life within you.) My understanding is that they do celebrate communion (Lord’s Supper), but only people who think that they are members of the 144,000 should receive. How is that supposed to work?

If there are any devout witnesses out there, I would love to hear an explanation about these.

Answer #7

I’m afraid sexi mexi is misinformed. She said (above): “They [J’s Ws] reject the idea of Jesus’ resurrection and our salvation by His grace.” This is not so.

Jehovah’s Witnesses absolutely DO believe that Jesus was resurrected to heaven after his death on earth. In fact, they believe he is presently reigning as the King of God’s kingdom and will soon take action against his enemies on earth, just as he has already done in heaven. (See Revelation 12:7-12)

Jehovah’s Witnesses also believe their ONLY salvation lies in Jehovah God’s son, Jesus Christ, and that is why they take very seriously his command to preach the good news to others, so that they too may have the opportunity to put their faith is salvation by him. (See Matthew 28:19,20)

Please do research, but be VERY careful from where you get your information about J’s Ws, as there are many lies floating around, especially on the internet.

Answer #8

In response to catoblue’s answer above, it is true that JWs believe Christ existed and was the Son of God, but they certainly do not recognize what true Christian religions believe, and that is the doctrine of the Holy Trinity as one God (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit). Jesus Christ is not separate from the Holy Trinity. He is part of it, not as three Gods, but as one. Because JWs deny/minimize His divine nature, this presents the major argument from other Christian religions as to why Jehovah’s Witnesses are not “Christian.”

As for doing my research, leave the Internet out of it…I have heard this said directly from the mouths of JWs themselves! I know, we lived near a Kingdom Hall for years…as I said previously, though, those are your beliefs and I respect other people’s views.

Answer #9

I myself am Catholic. I love being Catholic as I was raised in the Church since birth and don’t ever see myself leaving. I suppose this is the same for people who grow up as Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, etc.

Besides the occasional annoying recruiting tactics, I have no problem with JWs. I have heard directly from some former JWs that should you ever leave, you are completely cut off from your family. What religion says that if you ever leave the church you are basically banned from the ones you know and love? No true Christian religion would ever mandate that sort of law. I guess that’s why they often get the “cult” rap. That brings me to my next point…

Another misconception about the JW religion is that it’s a Christian religion. A true Christian religion, Catholic or Protestant, recognizes the Holy Trinity (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit). They do not. They reject the idea of Jesus’ resurrection and our salvation by His grace.

Which is cool, that’s their belief! Just like Mormons have a different idea of heaven, just like Pentecostal women don’t wear pants, etc. I may disagree with their beliefs about blood transfusions and organ transplants, but that’s what makes the world go ‘round!

Answer #10

Jehovah’s Witnesses beliefs: A) They are at your door to recruit you for enslavement to their watchtower corporation, they will say that “we are just here to share a message from the Bible” this is deception right off.

B) The ‘message’ is their false Gospel that Jesus is ruling in heaven already since 1914.The problem with this is it’s not just a cute fairy tale,Jesus warned of the false prophets who would claim “..look he is here in the wilderness,or see here he is at the temple”

C) Their anti-blood transfusion ban has killed hundreds if not thousands

D) once they recruit you they will “love bomb” you in cult fashion to also recruit your family & friends or cut them off. There are many more dangers,Jehovah’s Witnesses got a bad rap for good and valid reasons.

99% of the world has rejected the teachings of the Watchtower Jehovah’s Witnesses, the darker truth is they are a destructive and oppressive organization.

Answer #11

yup

Answer #12

Nope. A YHWH witness! Yeshua Saves!

Answer #13

No

Answer #14

Look at Catoblue’s comment. This is why no one likes proud Jehovah’s Witnesses. LMAO

Answer #15

I have been one for 27 years. and proud of it…

Answer #16

No, I’m not any sort of Christian at all. Actually, I’m Sikh. An entirely different kettle of fish, I assure you.

Answer #17

No thank you.

Answer #18

I don’t mean to sound sceptical, but one JW lady I know nearly fainted when I said ‘fart.’

Why would a JW of 27 years call her/himself a questionable name like ‘fckaylee’?

And I have some trying to recruit me now. Such nice people. Gifts and concern and sweetness and light and do they really expect a Sikh to join a group that outlaws facial hair? And consigns women to perpetual slavery under men for all eternity. And tells me what ‘marital acts’ I can have with my husband. And…has no secrets, but soon they will start issuing a monthly Watchtower magazine ‘for members only.’

Answer #19

Jehovah’s Witnesses are a cult because they try to cut you off from others who do not have the same beliefs, including family. The Watchtower is a truly Orwellian world.

Answer #20

I’m not a Jehovah’s Witness myself, but my sister and her husband are, and I think their faith is very interesting, and it’s often misunderstood.

Answer #21

I used to be a JW. A good way to explain what the religion is really about is to hear a recording of a secret judicial committee hearing. This is a “trial” a JW member is subjected to if he or she ever questions any of JW beliefs. This is the introduction youtube.com/watch?v=o2xB9CiIQMM
