Is it illegal to live in your car?

Answer #1

Not at all! You would just have to be licensed to drive it, and be parked in a legal place to park at.

Answer #2

It actually depends on your city. The old suburb I used to live in didn’t allow any sort of homeless person in your town. But the city I currently live in does.

Answer #3

I really wouldn’t suggest it, but no, if you’re parked in a walmart or something like that I don’t think they’d care.

Answer #4

I don’t think so, it depends where you park it I guess? Also depends your state laws, its different for everyone. But I guess if you have the car insuranced, have a liscence, and your parked in the right place, it should be ok?

Answer #5

Many localities have vagrancy laws that make it illegal to live in a car or or non-permanent shelter. These laws are very selectively enforced. In places with high costs of living many people who are un- or under- employed end up living in their cars.

Answer #6
