Should a felony conviction be for a lifetime?

Should a felony conviction be for a lifetime?

Answer #1

Of course not for all felonies…it just depends on the nature of the crime, imho, what the punishment should be.

Thanks for your response. I am trying to get a law passed that will allow a person with a non-violent felony conviction to have it expunged after 8 years. It is an uphill battle, which is why I am here. Two bills were introduced in VA and both were set aside by the politicians that were reviewing it. I am not sure how to convince them that this bill should be passed. In addition to this being passed in VA, I am hoping for it to be passed on the Federal level.
