Answer #2

There should be a speech teacher at your school. if not you can defiently find someone in a phone book. or ask your parents if they have one on there health care plan.

Answer #3

if its the ‘s’ that you cant say then theres an exercise that really works: make a ‘t’ sound like ‘tuh’ and leave you tongue where it ends after the sound (it should be just below the ridge on the top of your mouth) this is where your tongue should be when you make a ‘s’ sound, so go ‘t’ ‘s’ ‘t’ ‘s’ ‘t’ ‘s’ this really helps :) when youre used to the position your tongue should be in then start practicing simple words like ‘sea, sock, sun, six’ then you could start reading magazines or books out loud to practice. hope this helps :D x

I have a lisp as well and I knoe its embarrassing to go to the speech therapist I went to one for 4 years and it didnt work at all.!! but last year I was the one called the braces girl. So I’m basically in the same boat as you. When I actually find an inexpensive working way I’ll let you knoe [:

I know a good lisp exercise for anyone who is willing to try it. I read this on the internet and it’s actually pretty easy. I am 14 and it’s actually getting rid of my lisp! Anyway here’s all you have to do: Stick a pencil under your tounge and then bite down on the pencil while it is still placed under your tounge. Try to center the pencil as close as possible and use an unsharpened one in order to have a better grip with your teeth. Then start practicing saying words in sentences. Make sure you’re reciting the words/letters that you have trouble pronouncing. Hope it works! P.S: I read magazines and books out loud while doing this. it gives your tounge a wider variety of words and sounds to work with on repositioning itself!
