My 6 yr old son will not try and new foods. I realize as parents we are partly to blame when he was a baby. He will eat chicken nuggets, but won't eat chicken. He is very stubborn. I have tried this is what we are eating and that is it and he will not eat. I think he would rather starve than try something new. He makes himself gag from the time the food hits his lips.
I just dont know what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

every child is different my brother is the same way and 13 years old and still will only eat mac and cheese and hot dogs ans chips thats why he is getting sick
usually when you eat something for so long you will get tired of it and he will want to try new things (ON HIS OWN)
what we did,,, try with just a lil tiny peice of something new on his plate but you have to watch him and make sure he eats it
show him how good it is but dont tell him try it tell him he cant have any!! lol its all urs he can eat the same thing every day !! lol make it sound fun to try new things and boring to eat the same thing the next day and the next day lol
ha my mom use to tell him that if he keeps eating it he will turn into it or sumtin scary like that
my son had the same problems and pretty much I just played a little game with him I told him whoever tasted the certain food first won one skittle and little by little he grew to like the food just at the first taste especially with broccoli he loves it now just at first taste try that hopefully that will work!
try telling him that certain foods stop pains, headaches etc such as beans tell him they stop head aches! etc my friend did that 2 her 2 daughter and they ate them straight away! she also told them onions stop you from geting head aches! lol and they ate them 2!!
I make whatever they won't eat "my food". "you BETTER not eat my broccoli." If he eats it, make a fun, exaggerated deal about it. "OH NO! you ate my broccoli! what EVER will I do with out my Broccoli. You better not eat any more..."
lol my little cousin was this way until her mom literally PAID her to eat something different (which she ended up loving) && she realized that different foods can be good as well - now she's try anything!
