How do I solve this Physics equation?

I’m learning Level one Physics by correspondance, at the moment I’m learning about waves and I got a little stuck on how to solve this equation:

A long fishing rold is held upright on a boat. The engine of the boat causes the end of the fishing rod to vibrate. Marie who is on the boat estimates that the end vibrates back and forth 20times a minute.

The first part of the equation was easy, I was asked to calculate the peroid of vibration of the end of the fishing rod, this is 0.3 seconds. the next part got me stuck:

The amplitude of the vibration is 0.15m Calculate the average speed of the vibration of the end of the fishing rod.

I don’t understand how I’m supposed to solve it. I even went as far as to look at the answer to try and make me understand it but I’m still stuck, the answers start off solving it like this: d=4x0.15

Where did the 4 come from??

Help :(

Answer #1

I’d rather not pay money for something like that. I’m kinda broke.
