How do I get rid of period cramps?

I just started it today, and my stomach is hurting every once in a while. How do I get rid of them? Are their certain foods I should eat, or should I take like tums or something like that?

Answer #1

Ibuprofen is the only thing that works for me that is not perscription. Stay away from broccoli, beans or other gassey foods as this can exacerbate the bloating. I always hear that takiing calcium pills every day is a great way to lessen the pain

Answer #2

mydol

Answer #3

Heat pads, or showers/baths ease the cramping if it gets bad.

stay away from greasy foods, dont eat to the point where you feel too full while your on your period..pain will come and get ya..and avoid hot spicy stuff..dark coke…and jello..I know that the first two are a must avoid along w. the greasy and heavy foods but jello im not too sure..just not risk it ya know..and you can go to a walgreens (if you have one) and buy lydia pinkham..its the best out there and it works really good..I started taking it like three days before my period and like bam..I didnt even notice that my period was coming bc I had no cramps!! and its crazy because I get them sooo bad I literally start crying!! well any questions just fun mail me! hope that helps!!

Answer #5

sup sup…so there are many medications you can get…I have prescription meds…you just make an appointment with your family doctor and you can get the meds…cramps are very common in teen girls…they willl get less painful as you grow oldeorr…MYDOL works if they aren’t to bad. YOu can just law down and rest…but sometimes eating bread helps, or putting an icepack or heatpack on your lower back…I find sometimes drinking ice water or just sucking on ice cubes can help as well

Answer #6

good ways are to jump up and down / do some jumping jacks…it really does work…also laying down and putting your hands on the “v” part of your body right next to your stomach…hope this helps!! :)

Answer #7

My favorite thing to do if no advil/ibprofuen is working. I have a friend sit on me. It seems really weird but the pressure of them on my lower ab makes it feel better.

Answer #8

Avoid caffeine, salty and/or greasy foods, and carbonated drinks. The carbonation can give you gas which will make your cramps 100 times worse. Heating pads and Ibuprofen(advil) are you’re friend.

Answer #9

If you are on the pill try swopping to a different one, they all give different effects. It worked for me.

Answer #10

a hot water bottle on your stomach yeah something hot on your stomach where it hurts
