Every time I’ve had a hermit crab die it was out of its shell.
A few times I was sure my crab was dead but when I gave it a bath it started crawling.
You can give your crab a bath by dunking it in bottled water. Don’t leave your crab under for more than 3 minutes or it can drown.
GENTLY blow the shell.
Ok if you don’t wanna do any of that stuff wet your finger a poke it GENTLY!

lift him/her hit if they fall out of the shell then they are probably dead. if you see maggots crawling out of there shell then they are dead… if the cage smell really fishy then they are dead… lol hope I helped… :]]
Got to eat - leave a morsel outside, see if he gets it.
