i have one coming up next month and i have no clue what it is
Yeah, I hear you. It's always a little weird when you dont know the person. And then they expect you to reveal your inner most thoughts and what not. Try to remember though, there is very little that you say that will surprise them. So they're not likely to judge you. You'll be fine. They're trained to get along with people and make them comfortable.
That's odd. I've never heard of a specific psychological assessment focusing on anxiety and depression. Any how, on most psychological assessments they'll do an interview and talk to you about who you are, your background, your family, etc, then they'll ask you to complete a bunch of questionnaires. That's all. Nothing too painful.
I'm in trauma therapy and I had to take one just take a deep breath and relax. I'm not sure if anything significant has happened to you but if so be honest they are there to help and if your anxiety starts to get high tell them that you just need to relax for a minute. You'll be fine its all talking.
thanks...im really nervous about it because its with a doctor that i have only met once (a teen health center doctor) and thats primarily why i am nervous but she didnt explain to me a procedure or what it is which made me nervous :P
There's no procedure. It's just questions. They may show you some pictures and ask you to describe what you see. Or ask you to draw something. All you're doing is talking. It's not that big a deal.
I have had them numerous times, it takes about 2 hours full of every question you can think of, be 100% honest, they dont judge you a bit. Trust me there are worse.
yea i know but the fact that i dont know the doctor well makes me nervous
