Do I chose the reason of reality or the possibilty of belief?

It is hard to decide sometimes whether I should believe in some kind of god or not. The facts make me think there isn’t something greater than me… but sometimes I just feel like there is. It’s hard to be torn between the two. What do you believe and why?

Answer #1

I am very glad that I do not believe that I AM… all that there is. I much prefer to believe and trust in the GREAT I AM… OF ALL CREATION.

If this world.. is all there is.. and when we die.. we just die.. then,… there really is not much to it, is there?

I am very glad that I can rest at night, believing that God is watching over me, that he cares about me, that he comes to my aid, when I need him, if I have followed his word, and his spirit.

It makes me very happy to believe that once I die, I will walk into HIS PRESENCE… and be able to live there, for all eternity.

It makes me very happy to know that he became part of my life, in June of 1985, and that my life has never been the same since.

It makes me happy to know that his spirit walked me thru his word, helping me to understand it, and showing me how to build the foundation of my life upon it.

It makes me very happy to know that his word says that the very hairs on my head are numbered, and that my God, knows when a sparrow falls to the ground. And that I am to take not thought for tommorrow, for tommorrow will take care of itself.

There is great peace in all of this, for a believer.

And the good news is… that whosoever will… may become a believer.

There is no class distinction in heaven… no race problem… no hatred… no greed… no irresponsible behavior, no fear, no lack, no persecution, no bigotry,

Why would you not want to go there?

I’m a Deist. I believe in a “God” that started the ball rolling but did not continue to involve Itself in the evolution of that that is.

The fact that God cannot YET be proven does not invalidate the belief.

Man, for centuries believed that the earth was flat. Man also believed that everything revolved around the earth.

It is only as man evolves and learns more about the universe that he is able to develop facts that support or negate many of his beliefs.

So far, there are no FACTS to prove or disprove the existence of God.

The best thing you can do is to study a little about many different beliefs and decide if any, or a composition of a few, satisfy your own logic and needs.

well I beleive in nothing, no higher power or “gods” in my opinion there is no proof, no actual proof with real facts to support the existance of something higher than us that suposedly created everything I beleive in evolution, everything evolves to adapt to its surrounding and changing enviroment, it didnt all just appear out of nothing also the bible in my opinion is nothing but a man made myth and most christians nowdays have lost the plot they dont respect anyone elses beleifs because there always trying to get you to beleive in what they do to me, god will never be apart of my life, and im glad im not wasting my time with it however just because I beleive in nothing doesnt mean you should you have the right to choose, so you should beleive in whatever makes you happiest weather it be in yourself or in some higher power, or in something else its your decision keep an open mind though because christianity really doesnt teach a lot of things people can use nowdays they hardly even teach sex education, which is what children today so desperatly need but beleive in whatever makes you happy have a long hard think about what would benifit your life more and make you happier beleiveing in yourself or beleiving in something else to answer all your unanswered questions

* Why would you not want to go there?

Most people probably find the idea of heaven appealing, but what difference does that make if it doesn’t exist?

Answer #5

Follow your heart and brain and pick the choice that is right for you…that’s all you can do.

Answer #6

Satanism. Its not the worship of the devil, as in the evil being. You should do that. Its a lot a lot more reasonable then any other religion besides Athiest or Agnostic I guess?

And without knowing it most “Christians” practice it anyway.

Answer #7

I don’t believe in the bible, chritianity, or any of that. I’ve thought about that before and it just doesn’t make sense to me. I guess I’m just asking if you think in anything higher than yourself? or is it just people in this world that make differences to whatever we’re doing.

Answer #8

I don’t believe - the “bible” isn’t enough proof for me, no written document will ever prove anything to me.

Answer #9

For me, it’s hard NOT to believe in a power greater than myself…Mother Nature is in right in front of me, and provides an every day happening that is more powerful than myself. From weather, to wild rivers, animals, to beautiful skys…

Go rafting and you’ll find something more powerful than yourself…try to capture on a camera, the sunset that you see…it can’t be done with same intensity.

Don’t make up your mind yet…just keep it open until you find what you’re looking for.

I don’t believe in God cause there is more proof that there is none than that there is. in fact there is no empirical evidence that he exist.

I had the same problem as you. I couldn’t let go that there was an all powerful being up there, after talking to several atheist I was able to let go of that.

There are several good you-tube videos about the existence or non existence of God. Some of them are just people gripping , But if you watch them objectively you will find that the ones that say God exist don’t stand up to real fact.

In the end its all up to you. Good luck

Answer #11

You are suffering from the indoctrination of your society. Everywhere you turn, it’s god this and devil that. This society, for all our claims of knowledge and reason, is only slightly more advanced than our ancient ancestors who believed the earth was flat, that the stars were the eyes of superheros (aka gods) looking down on us controlling events, and who believed that blood letting cured disease.

It’s time for the human race to advance beyond childhood in our view of nature. Care to come along?
