How do you know the devil is wrong we have never heard his side of the story?

Answer #1

“ Nothing is either good or bad , just thinking makes it so “ i think shakespeare said that….

i don’t know if he is truly wrong because i have been reading up on him in the past years.. and it pretty much seems that he is mainly looked at as a bad guy just because of the (bad) things that happen around people.

Answer #2

We don’t. I think he’s had a bit of a hard time to be honest. Not saying that he’s not evil but I’m not Christian or a believer in God so I’m not saying he is. He got turned into a snake for making Eve eat an apple when she didn’t have to eat the damn thing. And if there was no evil then they’d be nothing to compare good to. But I guess we’ll never hear his side of the story. :/

Answer #3

I bet 10 dollars Lucifer got booted from Heaven for smoking weed.

Answer #4

No one “knows” the truth about God or the Devil or if either one is good or bad seeing as how its impossible to know something without any proof. People have faith in God and in their bibles that what is being told to them and what they follow is the right path…but again..theres no way of “knowing”. I dont follow any religion, but i feel the devil has gotten a bad rep and i wouldnt blame him if he was p!ssed and causing bad things to happen…

Answer #5

the devil is a representation of all that is evil in the world, inventede by us humans. its not an actual person.

Answer #6

HAIL SATAN! ….Just kidding I’m agnostic.

Answer #7

Well.. I guess you could say the same about God. How do we know he’s not evil? You can’t know for sure, because really, it’s just an idea. o_O

It’s hard to believe in something when it’s not actually a physical thing that we can see, touch, or hear.

Answer #8

Satan, or the “Devil”, is a manmade concept, and the evidence for that is in the Bible itself. Satan changes from the Old Testament to the New. In the first, he’s very clearly an angel who does God’s dirty work. In the second, he’s God’s opponent, leader of demons and the source of evil in the world. And today, people have very different beliefs about Satan, hell, etc. than people 2,000 years ago. So you can see the concept evolve over time, as with all beliefs about all supernatural beings in almost every religion in history.

Answer #9

People make assumptions. you can believe whatever you want. thinking that he’s wrong just makes things easier for Xians. When really, from my point of view anyways, the devil seems less corrupt than Jesus.

Answer #10

i like this quote “But who prays for Satan? Who, in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most?” Just thought id bring it out there coz its cool :) I dont believe in all that hurrah, im Atheist.

Answer #11

Actually, we do know Lucifer (The Devils) side of the story. He was actually created by God as an Anointed Cherub, which means to be set apart for Gods’ Divine purpose. God had given Lucifer a certain amount of power and authority, but he perverted that power. Lucifer wanted to exalt himself above God, rather than “just” being the Angel of God.

I found that out in a story I read, that had little tid-bits about the 9 circles of Hell :)

Answer #12

From what I know the mythical devil wanting nothing more than to have lesser angels treated as “human”. The devil from the bible is clearly a humanist who is determined to un-create an unjust god.

Answer #13

whos Lucifer?

Answer #14

There are various approaches to this problem.

If God created the universe than can’t he make all the rules? With this view everything Godly is good by definition.

Then there is the idea that God is so far above us that we can’t fathom his actions any more than an ant can fathom the actions of people. What seems evil to us only does so because of our limited perspective.

One argument that God is evil comes from the idea of Hell. People live for a finite amount of time so they can only be guilty of finite sins. If sinners are tormented in Hell for eternity than this is infinite punishment for finite sins. If it is evil to unfairly punish someone than that makes God infinitely evil.

Answer #15

It’s Satan’s name

Answer #16

how do you know if taking someones life is wrong? is it because of society that tells you it is wrong, or is it your own conscience that tells its not right. you decide……that rite there is up to you to decide who’s rite or wrong?

Answer #17

As far as i know Lucifer wanted to have more power then he did, to have the power god had. So he got kicked out of heaven.

Answer #18

If you look into it The devil was actually one of God’s angels at some point and did something wrong so was sent down to watch over hell as punishment. or something along those lines…. of course if thats what you believe in then why not, i guess it could have happened.

Answer #19

Nah. He was probably a teen and went all rebellious getting a round haircut, a tattoo and eating shellfish.
