How can I get my daily vegetable servings w/o eating actual vegetables ?

OR How can I try vegetables w/o gagging? Everytime I eat vegetables I gag. The taste doesn’t match my taste buds and the smell makes me feel sick. I know vegetables are suppose to be good for you but isn’t fruit better ?

Answer #1

i would recommend anything with vegetable oil… it has most (if not all) of your daily vegetables needed… my my mom cooks tons of foods with vegetable oils.. and it doesn’t taste bad

Answer #2

Well I put veggies in my smoothies and I can’t even taste them, I put apples, bananas, strawberries, carrots, spinach, broccolli and yogurt

Answer #3

eat salad!! or you could try making an omelet… just fill it with chopped tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, green peppers, chili peppers, broccoli, or whatever you have on hand. any or all of these veggies can also be tossed into any potato skillet dish. mixed together, it actually tastes pretty good.

Make sure you get a balanced diet that includes the appropriate number of calories, split in the correct proportions between carbohydrates, protein and fats. Also ensure that you consume enough fibre.

If you prefer fruit to vegetables then just aim for 5 portions of fruit per day. If you think you might be missing out on any micro-nutrients, you can take a daily multivitamin with micro-nutrients tablet.

If you just dislike chewing vegetables, how about drinking V8 juice? if you haven’t heard of it, try Googling

V8juice.

Answer #8

Most of us don’t get enough of either fruit or vegetables. There are certain nutrients that are more abundant in vegetables than fruit so simply substituting fruit isn’t a good option. You probably should eat more fruit but you need vegetables too.

When I was younger I only liked a few vegetables. I liked corn, peas, potatoes, and was ok with green beans. I kept trying new vegetables and ways to prepare or serve them and over time learned to love almost all of them. I still don’t like kale and most greens and I’m not big on raw bell pepper but otherwise I can’t think of any other vegetables I don’t like now.

Eat whatever vegetables you like now and keep trying new things and over time your tastes will change and you will like more of them.
