anti-gravity and the universe's expansion

dont answer unless you know what the hell im talkin ab but.

the known universe and all thts in it is expanding out and away from (other objects). so whts the current theory why the hell this is happening? I heard somthing about anti gravity but hts causing this bump in space-time to make everything spread out?

mmm I don’t know I kkinda doubt that one but its a good idea. if it were that then everything would be moving from focal point or everything would be moving in the same direction, out, but everythign is moving away from everything, so not only in but out.

I thought of an idea earlier this week and wrote it down I mite post it later.

Answer #2

Perhaps there is excess dark matter surrounding the universe and it is continuously pulling on it, causing the universe to expand. …I should discuss this with my one classmate in astronomical sciences, lol

Answer #3

… how would gravity cause this? its affects are becoming less influential on the galaxies as things are farther apart from eachother.

the universe isnt only expanding, its accelerating, so its not momentum, it needs a constant applied force.

astronomers have even observed distant stars and objects actually REPEL from eachother (hence the anti-gravity proposal)

hay just an idea but if there are gravitons, could there me anti-gravitons? that cause the opp affect?

Answer #4

The Universy is expanding due to momentum, there is no debate over this fact. however it is not 100% certain that gravity will eventual over come this, and cause the Universe to collapase on itself.

Answer #5

already read most of the elegant universe and seent eh documentary. but dark matter has gravity, and is extreemly dense

Answer #6

I’ve also heard the same thing about dark matter, but if you want to dive further into the theorem of space-time, matter, etc. you could also check out string-theory. There’s loads of conjecture about this, but anti gravity could be one factor.
