angle of incidence and angle of reflection compare in a reflection

How do the angle of incidence and angle of reflection compare in a reflection from a regular, plane mirror?

Answer #1

they are always at the same angle eg if the incedence ray is a 45 degrees then the reflected ray will be at 45 dgrees, but on the opposite side. I think…

Answer #2

What?!

Answer #3

It’s been quite a while but the angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection in your scenario.

(And if you get down to the nitty gritty, there are TWO reflective surfaces in the everyday mirror - the glass surface itself, and the silver reflective coating on the rear surface of the glass. Usually the situation is idealized and one considers only the silver reflective coating.)
