Why is the world supposedly ending tomorrow?

I myself am kind of freaked out. I keep seeing questions like ‘Are we dying tomorrow?’ etc..What’s going on? I don’t particularly like watching television let alone the news…Could anybody kindly answer this for me? :)

Thanks

uh… the world can end any day not just the beginning of the year!!! But even if it does everyone would die not just u! And worrying ain’t going to stop it. just make sure you have god’s forgiveness if you are really worried about this.

Answer #2

I’m a little nervous about that, but the people that made it were so persisce, I don’t think it’ll end.

The Large Hadron Collider is being turned on tomorrow and if it works it’s supposed to make … ummm I dunno lol but if it doesn’t we will all be sucked into black holes. I took a long time to make it’s underground ant I think it was 17 miles long?

it’s some big machine …

Answer #4

There’s an experiment being conducted tomorrow, that has a miniscule chance of creating a tiny black hole

There’s a lot of hype about it, but really, there’s no reason to be concerned…the experiment was deemed safe

Answer #5

yeah theres a chance but it will be fine they have done this experiment before with the same risk but obv the faster they go the greater the risk and they are smashing protons together at a greater speed than before to see if it has mass but really it will be fine 1. because they have to put the risk down because you cant see the future 2. the smash atoms together which have protons 3.they done it before 4. the media is making up most of this and exaggerating the rish dont worry I had this fear for about a week but it will be ok

  • They’re not actually engaging in any collisions when they first fire it up. It’s just a test run in which they circulate a beam to make sure everything’s working.
  • When they do test it with collisions, they’ll be testing it at a low power that’s already been done hundreds or thousands of times in other supercolliders around the world.
  • When they do fire it up to full power (probably some time next year), yes, there’s a theory that predicts microscopic black holes. The theory’s considered pretty unlikely, and even if they do form, they will ‘evaporate’ back into nothing in extremely short order.
  • The sort of collisions they’ll be testing at full power happen in our upper atmosphere all the time. If microscopic black holes are formed that way, the earth would have been consumed by them long ago.

So in a nutshell: No, the world will not end this wednesday, or when they actually use it to test collisions, or when they fire it up to full power. No, not even a ‘small’ chance - no chance at all.

oooh see I wondered about that too its something like that im not worried about it and people are going around like “ZOMG!” this and “OMG” that its pointless

Answer #8

WER NOT going to DIE

Answer #9

There has always been one group or another claiming they have seen signs that tell them the earth is going to end. When the date comes and goes, they revise their calculations. Some people want to cause “The end times” by starting wars in regions that are said to be where the end will come. It is the crazy people that will be the end of life as we know it, not god.
