Why do people skip to conclusions?

Ok its a weird q but whatever. When I eat I get a little pudge (lol)on my stomach and when we went out like 3 days ago this waitor at the restraunt gave me this look cause the people asked if we were in high school and I said no then I took off my coat and they automatically thought I was inpregnito(hahaha)kinda made me mad(when I eat I automatically gain weight)but I just cant figure out why they didnt ask me something kinder then’are you going to have a baby’ (if you consider the look of a 1 month pregnant woman that what I looked like)ugh it made me mad but why do people skip to conclusions?

A 1 month pregnant woman does not look pregnant… It usually takes a few months for a belly to show. And yeah, if you’re small, usually the belly will show even more. My bestfriend usually looks pregnant after he eats. People are stupid. Ignore them. Or wear clothes that dont make your belly obvious

because that’s really just what we do… we generally just automatically assume things based on what we see, and stick to that assumption. it’s a human thing.
