When can I except this?

At at what age should you start having normal, regular periods? I am 17 and have been having a period since I was about 13. Well I still have irregular periods. They skip between a month and 3 months at a time. I just had one September 2 - September 9. So when should I start having a more normal cycle?

Answer #1

Yeah… I’ve been stressed over some stuff lately. I have a lot to do papers to write and stuff, I’m fighting with a certain someone, I miss one of my friends, etc… I don’t know if I’ll have one this month or not.

Some woman never have regulated periods, its just how your body works. Birth control is known to regulate periods though so maybe you should talk to your doctor about getting put on that.

Answer #3

funnily enough, I started the same time as you, and im 17. I think they might be irregular due to stress, mine are sometimes

Wow.. seems like a lot of us started when we were 13 lol But also, thank you everyone for helping me out. Another reason I asked this is to proof to some idiots at my school that there are other reason for missing a period than pregnancy. There’s this girl that does that about EVERYTHING. She was listening in to my and my friend’s conversation and heard about my period issues and she was like “omg! YOUR PREGNANT!” me and my friend both told her she was full of it but she kept going on and on about it. She does that to everyone. She gets on a lot of people’s nerves with her obviously stupid answers to things. So thanks again everyone!

Answer #5

Ok wow… that girl is a f*cking idiot! Did she not pay attention in sex ed?! The only way to get pregnant is when a girl has sex with a guy! She needs to go back and relearn all about the body and how it works. I certainly hope that moron doesn’t ever have kids. I woulda punched her in the first place for listening in on my conversation, then again for being a complete idiot… maybe it’d knock some sense into her haha I feel really bad for you having to put up with an idiot like that… wow

Answer #6

I agree with everyone else. Some women just don’t have regular, monthly periods. Every girl’s different so we all have different periods. I also started when I was 13 and will be 17 here soon and sometimes mine skip/are irregular too. You probably don’t have anything to worry about… but if you want more regular ones, talk with your doctor. They can put you on birth control or something.

Answer #7

You can’t expect it.

Some women never have a regular cycle without the help of a prescribed medication. See your doctor.
