I’ve had braces… I’ll be honest they can hurt a lil for a few days after you’ve had them put on and whenever you go to get them tightened… but you can choose colours to go on them… now when I had them.. it was kinda like a popular thing in my school.. if you get them lets hope they are with you too :) 1 thing I would cut down on tho if you get them is.. sugar intake… like sweets and fizzy drinks and that..theres no harm havin them now and again but not allthe time… and its always a caution to clean ya teeth more often… ya don’t want food stuck in them do ya..???

thats from my experience…hope this helps??

I had them for four years. I’ll admit, at the beginning, it was awful fo rme because it was a big change and I wasn’t used to it. I had my mishaps, but as time went on, they became bearable. They really aren’t that bad when you get use to the metal in your mouth, plus it’s always fun to change colors. I would match my bands to the upcoming holiday :) They just became part of me and that’s one thing I was known for. Braces aren’t just for “geeks” and they look good on many people. It seems like it becomes natural with time, like they were supposed to be there. However, it can be difficult to clean and it very important. I have a few scars from my braces. The pay off is great though! Your teeth will look good and the moment they take the last bracket off, you run your tongue along your teeth and it feels GREAT! I’ve had the expander, springs, rubber bands (wear those if told!), and now a permanent retainer, so I have been through a lot with the orthodontist. Don’t freak yourself out or get yourself down. I kind of ended up liking mine ;P

when you first get them it hurts a little because they are just starting to pull your teeth in new directions and it takes a little time for your nerves to get used to that pulling. you may have to eat soft foods for a week or so but after that, it is pretty much back to normal. just watch foods like whole apples are hard candies. those types of foods can makes your brackets fall off.

they really arent a big deal. I had them for 3 years. my teeth were horrible before but now they look great so it is all worth it =]

everyone is different..it depends on your pain threshold I guess. when I first got them the pain was sooo bad. I seriously couldnt eat anything but jello and pudding for 3 weeks! no lie I went crazy and cried smelling all the good food. it killed to bite lightly on something as soft as a fresh goey from the oven cookie. or even mac and cheese…it was really bad I couldnt deal with anything…but then after the 3 weeks they were bearable enough to eat again. it still kinda hurt tho. after like a month they felt fine. like nothing. then most people complain about getting them tightend but that never hurt me in the least. sometimes they give you a new wire though. and that kills. its not as bad as when you first get them…but you go back to jello for about another 2 days. braces suck trust me. I personally dont eat at school or anything because they stick to your brackets and wire and I dont have time to brush my teeth at school and honestly its very noticable.oh and you also get sores in your mouth from the sharp braket like engraving itself into your flesh and its kills.
