Whats it like in a mental hospital? When do you see doctors? Just whats it like? My best friend is there, and my parents said I might have 2 go 2. Whats it like? Do they take stuff away from u ? Where do you sleep? Pls answer!!!

well, I was caught cutting, and im kinda depressed. my friend is already in there, I kinda got depressed when my best friend left me…

well its for people who need mental help. doctors are always around the halls. its kind of weird&crazy why is your friend there and why do you need to go? anyway, good luck<33

I wish I’d seen this question first, before I answered your other question. I guess mental hospital makes me picture psych ward. What you’re talking about is a rehabilitation center or a treatment facility. They’re more long term dealing with specific problems like eating disorders, self harm, addiction, etc… They’re usually nice… You have your own room or you share with 1 or 2 people. You do individual therapy a couple of times a week (with the doctor), lots of group therapy and other activities… They’re there to teach you other coping skills so you dont have to hurt yourself. They’ll probably check your stuff but I dont know if they’ll take it… It depends on place to place…

I’m surprised your parents didnt try individual outpatient therapy before considering a facility?
